Bead Release Tips:
Is your release to thin? Leave the lid off for a day or two to let some of the moisture evaporate off. Is your release to thick? Add a little water and shake it up. A little water goes a long way, so add a very little at a time. Do you have a hard time mixing your release? Throw a couple wonky beads in the release and that will help it mix when you shake it.
Not sure if the release is to thick or to thin? The faster or slower you pull your mandrel out of the release makes a difference on the thickness of the coating. You would think that the slower you pull it out the more you would get on your mandrel. The exact opposite is true. The slower the pull, the less release you will have. The faster the pull, the more release you will have.
Is the release not sticking to the mandrels well? When you have new mandrels, I recommend roughing the surface up with a scrubbie or an sos pad and washing them in dish soap. This will take care of the oil on the surface and the surface being to smooth.
The best tip I can give you? Make sure you are holding the lid in the release nice and tight while you are shaking the bottle. Way to many of us have had a room/wall/floor/table covered in bead release from the lid coming off while we are shaking the bottle!
